Easter Eggs?
IN books, Easter eggs are a tribute, a secret trick, a cameo or some other surprise. My books are full of these.
- In The Roundhouse, the first scary book I remember reading, The Ghost of Windy Hill, is the book Louis (me) sees when he falls down the stairs and notices books on the ground that have fallen off the bookcase.
- I have two copies of The Ghost of Windy Hill by
- Father Huse in The 13th Month is reading the book Savior, also by me. It appears on his coffee table in one of the scenes.
- In The 13th Month, Father Huse learns that Ghost Hunters Mike and Russ were inspired by The Questors’ Adventures.
- There are cross-over scenes in The Calling of the Protectors series with the characters from 13 Days. Both happen at the apartment complex where the characters run into each other. Claudia’s Aunt Doris in 13 Days is the same Doris in The Calling of the Protectors series.
- In Calling, cats run into characters from the 13th Month in the “Mighty Adventures of Mouse, the cat
- I am a character in The Questors Adventures, Spookable Tales, and appear in Anna’s Art Center.
- In the “Behind the Scenes” section of The Arelis Complex I state I got the picture for the cover from my friend Narn who lives in outer space. This is false. It was actually my friend Flaer Bononoan from the planet Ektor who gave me the picture.
- In anna’s Art Center there is a scene where the characters interact with me as the author by asking me a question as though they know they are characters and I am writing the story. Can you find it?
- In the Vampire Detective Plays, I put in refernces from some of my favorite movies. Most of them are done by Drakh’s silent partner, Bob. Among these are lines from Ghost, Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, and Planet of the Apes.
- I often spelled words wrong to make characters speech sound like I wanted them too and I had to tell editors to not correct the poor grammar. I also spelled Grammer wrong on purpose a few times just because I'm the author and can do that!!
